Adventures Cape Breton Island - Top 3 trips to the waterfalls

Okay, I have a preference for the waterfalls, spectacular views on the path of water and ancient forests. Duration: 25 minutes to 5 hours. So here they are: # 1 Indian Brook Falls, North River Falls # 2, # 3 Black Brook Falls.

First Indian Brook Falls Hike (difficult)

The Cabot Trail runs along the east coast (Atlantic) side of Cape Breton Island.

Take the Cabot Trail, in the village of Indian Brook. A landmarkThe bridge over Indian Brook. The trail begins on the northwest side of the stream.

During the summer heat, you do the hike in and near the stream. In early spring, type the path, as I said on the northwest side of the bridge. Along the creek. Descent to the first of two waterfalls.

You will see eagle flies out of the pond church, just below the stream, often with fish in their mouths to their children. Following the river there are big holes and swimmingwild strawberries along the sides of the stream. Some people canoe or kayak, until the water is too low and the rocks too slippery for Portage.

The Indians are breathtaking waterfalls. Duration: 4-5 hours rountrip how often to wild strawberries, swimming, or the occasional stop image-dependent.

Two falls. North River (moderate, but long - about 16 km round trip)

South and west on the Cabot Trail, the North River Wilderness, in realityPart of the protected Cape Breton Highlands. Turn off the Cabot Trail on Oregon Road and there is a clear entrance to the trail. This is a poster hand and map of the area and local maps that can be used free of charge.

Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and be ready for a swim at any time between May and mid-October (if they are abundant). The path winds through the woods and exquisite winds, but some beautiful country, some private land, but especially the "crown". Indeed Trailonce again in recent years, but is well marked and easy to follow.

The path leads into a raging stream, which has some nice places to rest, picnic and sunbathing even (dare I say a nap?)

Once you get prepared for the North River Falls, you can swim. As Indian Brook Falls, the water is almost black, but fresh and clean. Bring your camera, the long walk, but breathtaking. Length 3.5 to 5 hours. Moderate difficulty.

Third BlackMarion Falls Brook Falls (two more easy for the price of one)

Black Brook is actually a beach on the Atlantic Ocean, with a flow of power in it. The hike is short and is usually along the beach, which is several miles north of the village of Ingonish.

You can swim in the sea salt and then in a small waterfall shower of fresh water.

Hike around the falls and there are paths for hiking and along the sea to follow;. Marion is not farIf (a quick 4 minutes), where you can drop by a number of falls in another. These walks are easy: the fifteen to twenty minutes for each site. Once you are at the waterfall, it is worth living and exploring around the rocks. More tourists, but a beautiful place and you can really make the air fresh, the rocks and the soothing sound of waterfalls.
